Guys,

I have a Quicksilver QS 6.5 generator in my '89 340DA. The genset died on July 4th and I have determined it is a bad fuel pump. So far, my search has come up empty for a replacement pump.

Anyone know a good source for QS genset parts? I heard QS was sold to Generac but I still cannot find a source.

Thanks in advance.

Shawn

Do a search for quicksilver generators. They were made by generac but the motors are Nissan 1.1L. The parts are out there but are salty. My list is on the boat and I won't be back on it till next weekend.

Thanks, Walt. I did the search and really didn't get anywhere. I am not in too big a rush so I can wait.

Thanks

Also this is part Number:

original pump is labeled "ac-delco' part# ep-89 But please note...When I received the new pump it had the same wire connector and the same colors of wire(black and white) but the colors where reversed in relation to the connector only being able to be plugged in one way. It was easy fix moving the wires in the connector.

I had the same problem with my 1990 QS 6.5 genset. After being quoted over $250 for a fuel pump, my mechanic bought one at a NAPA parts store for under $30. Wired it up and it works fine. I think he got one for a 4 cyl or small V6 engine. It's been working now for over a year. Good Luck.

Thanks to all who assisted. I finally bought the correct pump at a NAPA store for $62 and installed it in about 30 minutes. I had it fixed for Labor Day weekend and while anchored out in 100 degree heat, the darn thing sucked some weeds and cooked my impellor. No spare but I just bought 2 kits. One to install tomorrow and a spare for next time.

where'd you get the impeller kits and how much$? (i'm thinking preventative maintainence).

There must be some bad genset fuel pump stuff in the water over here.... mine died as well.... I am glad you were able to get everything worked out.
