Westerbeke gen runs fine but is not producing any power/voltage. Any tips on where to start troubleshooting?

I have a 1998 330 with the same problem. I have been told that I need to separate the motor and gen. and have the gen. checked or rewound. To do this has been a real pain in the butt.

Check the breakers in the engine space
Run the diagnostics in the manual to check the diodes and the capacitors

before you yank the back end off the thing. If you cannot, then find a Westerbeke gas guy to check these things.

I had the same problem several years ago with my first Searay.. Runs but no electricity. There is a push button circuit breaker somewhere on the genny that should fix the problem.
Someone here gave me the answer. When it worked, I immediately became a sponsor figuring that one tip alone saved me many times the cost of having a mechanic out. Still save hundreds a year here on tips.

Y'all keep in mind that the OP has a Cruisers, not a Sea Ray. The wiring, breakers on board, etc. on our boats are probably (certainly) different because Sea Ray uses a proprietary generator interface on most boat.
