I LOVE my in-laws, but I'm pretty ticked at them right now. Long story short, they didn't heed my warning about leaving the cove we were anchored in and ran aground slightly on a submerged cement wall (don't ask).
There was only one of them in the boat and they were moving at a very slow speed as my father-in-law was pushing the boat out of the cove (water was waist deep). Accordingly, the damage is minimal, about a 6" round area with a few little gouges out of the gel-coat. (see photo).
If this was above the water-line I would definitely just give it a light sanding and do some gel-coat repair but as it's on the bottom, I really am not sure how much I need to worry about the damage. I have done boat gelcoat repair in the past and fiberglass repaired many-a surfboard, but never a boat. Any opinions on the level of repair I should do here?
