Gelcoat Repair

I have a 2005 Sea Ray that needs some minor gelcoat repair but I do not know the correct color. The dealer was no help at all. They just told me that they do not have any records going back that far. I have called and emailed Sea Ray but they did not respond. Can anybody tell me how I can get this information? I am about ready to just sell it as is and get a Crownline.

I called the SeaRay plan directly when I needed the color for my boat. I then matched it up to a Spectrum patch kit and the repair is just about perfect. I would suggest calling - based on your boat being a 200 Sport I would guess it was built in Vonore TN, if the serial # ends in SERV. They had the build sheet from my boat and were very accommodating.

If it's minor you can probably eyeball it with a color matching repair kit. The gelcoat is going to have faded a bit in 13 years of exposure. New gelcoat in the matching color may not match perfectly due to the fade factor.

This is what I did and I got a near-perfect match using the little color tubes. The color of the uncured gelcoat doesn't change as it cures, so once you have the color right you're good.

look at some marketing brochures from back in the day to see what colors were offered. Is your boat white, grey, blue? Some info will get your some better answers.
