Gas warning label on stern a peeling mess

The label on each side of my stern warning of the dangers of gas and minimum octance are pealing off and look bad. To add insult looks like the prior owner tried to stick back on with some other type of glue or expoxy?? which is now in a lump, plus the original Searay glue.

Any ideas on how to remove the glue and not damage the fiberglass? Not sure I need to replace the stickers, although if I can't clean it up that might be my only recourse to clean up this mess. Thx.

Heat gun, flexible plastic scraper, acetone.

Try a search, too. There are a few threads on this topic - that way don't start having too many duplicate threads.

Yep. Heat gun(careful) and peel then clean it off with acetone, buy a new decal and stick it on.

Those decals are usually strong enough to pull them of by hand most of the time without a heat gun. Try that first then use the heat gun only if necessary. I was able to pull all mine off my 260DA and my previous boats without a heat gun.

For clean up of the glue, use a citrus based cleaner like Goo Gone on a rag. It takes a bit of rubbing but the Goo Gone softens the glue up and that allows you to wipe it off. As other have said, Acetone will work too. Just be sure you don't get that stuff near any decals that you don't want damaged because Acetone will wreck them.:wow:

Goof off works good. I just removed mine and ordered a new one from Marine Max for about $3-4 so I could replace it.

Dont throw it away until you get the part number off the bottom corner!
