The other gas tax thread got me thinking about an article I ran across a while back so I thought I would post this link for those who it could help. Unlike Diesel, Gasoline is apparently not available un-taxed for off road use. A handful of states have created a method for boaters to recover a portion of the STATE highway use tax paid for marine gasoline. You cant get the federal tax back but something is better than nothing. Below is the link-

That was interesting to read about, I had no idea but it makes sense. Too bad Oklahoma is not on the list, if it was I would be submitting alot of rebates....

Wonder if anyone in NC has ever tried it.... says to submit original receipts which I haven't been keeping but may try this year. I used approximately 300 gallons last year at ~30c per gallon = $90.

Yeah, the LOTO board that I'm on is talking about it right now.

Missouri has a refund also. I think it's 14 cents for each gallon of gas used for marine, aviation, or ag purposes. I need to keep gas reciepts on file next year. Probaby only $70 but that's a tank of gas in the truck.

wa. state tax is 53 cents a gallon I will be keeping all me reciepts I just found this out.You just print out the form and send in reciepts as often as you use the gas.Its great my boat has a 100 gal tank.
