I am looking to get a new grill......I have a griddle which I use on my gas grill (webber portable) for pancakes and eggs....I like my set up now, but more and more marinas are saying no to gas grills.......Webber makes an electric grill which is almost the same as my webber Q-220.....Any thoughts?

One thing to think about with the electric. I bought a relatively expensive Krups electric grill. It was nice and had a tray under the element to but water or beer that acted as a "flavorizer". My big problem was, with my old boat, the grill drew so much juice that it flipped the breaker every time we tried to use it. That was a smaller boat, and I didn't even know what the breakers apmerage was, but it wouldn't work on the boat. I don't think it was desinged for a boat. I know those big element draw a ton of juice. Just check what the unit will draw before you buy. Your mileage may vary, non-lawyer spokesperson, void where prohibited...

I might recommend looking at the Cherokee from TEC. Its a fairly portable grill that designed to run off of the small 16 oz throw away canisters or the larger 20lb cylinders of propane. If you're looking for electric then I'd recommend seeing if you can find the previous model Cherokee as TEC made it both in electric and gas. I have the previous model in gas and love it. Below is a link for the current model Cherokee.

I have an electric grill on the dock. It was a Walmart cheapy. I have a George Forman - that we use on the water.

I have a Solaire Infra Red Grill on the back of my boat.

I looked over their website and its the same technology my TEC Cherokee uses. I personally love it. Steaks are done in a matter of minutes with no fuss and very little clean up.

I do like the marine mount that Solaire offers, a very easy way to use the grill with out permanently mounting it.
