Gas at the dock was alot cheaper then I expected.

So I'm out cruising our favorite area (Charlotte Harbor) and we decided to check out Burnt Store Marina and see where it was at and where the resturant and gas dock were (good to know where these things are).

My mouth fell open when I saw the Gas Prices, now I had just been to the Shell up the road from the house where Regular was 3.22 and Diesel 3.57

At the Gas Dock Regular was higher but only 3.75 (I was expecting over $4.00) and deisel was actually cheaper at 3.51

Is this typical? I always though the gas at the dock was atleast $1 more, had I boated into some weird time warp where the cas prices were cheaper?

I find that marinas in our area price the tank by what they paid for it not the going rate so they won't raise their prices until they refill their tank.

Same thing on Lake Cumberland... Until the marina's refill their tanks, you can get it for the same price as you paid at the end of last season.

In the UK petrol is around $8 per US gallon and Diesel is over $10 per gallon. It is very rare that marinas stock petrol so we have to transport it in jerry cans as well as having the pleasure of paying road duty for out marine fuel!

I just filled up yesterday at our Marina. Gas was $3.25 a gallon and then I get a discount on top of that since I keep my boat there so it came out to about $3.00 a gallon.

I paid 3.29 at the pump for the truck yesterday. $73.00 to fill the tank. I am glad to hear you found some cheap fuel at Burnt Store but I wonder how long that will last. Can you imagine paying $8/gallon? I think I would take up sailing at that point.
