Anyone ever hear of this model? A guy I work with is selling this unit with a Cape Cod Chip for 500......The only thin I don't like is the external antenna.
What are your thoughts?
I was seriously looking at the GPSMap 76csx

I have a Gpsmap 176 (Monochrome version). I am looking to replace it. It works well enough, but the display is hard to see in sunlight. The color version is probably better. GPS is reliable, and it takes either AA batteries or an external power cable.

500? Dude. . .check prices on Amazon. That sounds awfull high.

Bear in mind that the "data card" is probably worth more than the unit itself. . .but still . .

I have a 276, the unit is easy to read, color screen, does both land and sea. Make sure it is a garmin pre-loaded map card. if not you will not be able to add or change maps on your pc

Thanks guys thats what I was figuring.......
I figure for slightly under that I can get a 76CSX with bluechart chip.
Granted it is smaller screen but this unit seems a bit dated IMHO
