The components are arriving for my next phase electronics upgrade (thanks BOE!) and these are Garmin's GPSMAP 7612XSV chartplotter, GMR 404xHD radar, and GHP 20 Reactor Autopilot.

So the problem is, the existing Sea Star hydraulic system is plumbed with nylon tube and standard ferrule nut fittings. This is compliant to the Sea Star steering system and the way Sea Ray did the boat. The Garmin installation manual for the Reactor pump states the hose and fittings must be permanently crimped style which would entail a complete removal of the Sea Star system and the painful reinstallation of a crimped hose system....
The question is; do I really need to replace the hydraulic hoses as per the Garmin manual states?

I would doubt the Reactor pump will pressurize the steering cylinder much higher than the existing helm. So I'm thinking this is a belt and suspenders liability thing but I still need to know for sure.

Thanks!
