Does anyone know how many inputs this unit has? If I want to hook up the GPS sensor, the sonar, and possibly a radar later, will I need the port expander?
I ask because there is a package deal that includes the unit, digital sonar, port expander and XM weather module. I don't think I'll use the XM module (too cheap to pay for monthly service), I definately want the sonar, and obviously the GPS sensor.
Maybe I could sell the XM modle on Ebay?

Thanks

IF it's built like my 3205 and I think on all garmins you have to have the port expander it's like a network hub for all of their products.

GPS sensor I assume you mean antenna, that just just plug in your wire it in to the plug that goes into the back of the garmin, then there is a second plug on the garmin that goes to the expander and there you plug in your digital sonar box which it will have a second cable that goes to the transducer. The XM weather module would then plug into the expander and also have a satalite antenna like the GPS antenna but it's for XM which you can then get XM radio and weather.

To cheap for the XM? Your gonna spend $2000 + on a 3210 package and then say your to cheap for the XM monthly service?

Go to garmin's site look at the installation guides you will see how it all connects together.

Also you need to put your Boat information in your signature so we know what kind of boat you have and where you boat to make it easier to help you.
