All,
I found a site that has the 740s for 799. It's 999 with a 200 instant rebate. The only thing you need to do is purchase a transducer separate.

Anyone with this unit, what are you thoughts on it.

im replacing an older 180c unit.

I just bought one yesterday. $800 was too hard for me to pass up.

I agree, think I'm going to upgrade too. My last boat had a 498, I loved it.

I have a 540s on the little boat, and put a 740s on the big boat this year. Haven't had a lot of experience with it yet, but so far it has performed well. Upgrading the charts gives you some extra features, but for me the auto-routing was one of the key features, and I have found it to be flaky at best. I might need a firmware upgrade.
