Gadhafi whacked: unintended concequences.

Of course this was going to happen. What did anyone expect? These desert rats will never embrace dimocracy. They don't put the same value on human life and liberty that we do. this will never change. Someday we will be chasing this a-hole with drones too. Mark my words.

Who knows how it will turn out. Certainly there's a lot standing between today and a successful outcome, however let's not forget the point of this initiative. The people of Benghazi had started a revolution. Gahdafi had amased his forces to retake Benghazi in what would certainly have been a bloodbath and a massacre. There was something that could be done and the international community came to the fore. I really do look at this as an international initiative vs. a U.S. only. I think legitimately, the U.S. did not want to take the lead on this one, and NATO convened to determine the outcome. Our Canadian boys come home at the end of October.

How will Libya turn out in the long-term? Who knows. It could end up being a mess, not unlike Yugoslavia after the demise of Tito, but I for one, am not shedding a tear for the too long delayed demise of this despot and murderer. Don't forget Pan Am 103.
