wuld have answered if I had seen this sooner...if your still out there we get a slip at tradewinds marina on clarks hill during he good months...Lu it!! look forward to seeing you there! skipper Don

my keyboard always seems to hang up on this board?!?! that's why I stopped ..... Very frustrating

Just bought property on Clarks Hill Lake near Lincolnton. It comes with a dock, but we are up in a cove, and when they lower the lake level the dock winds up on dry ground. At full pool it is 5' deep and fine for getting a boat in there, but I am watching to see how long it remains at full pool each season.

Do either of you guys know if Elijah Clark State Park or Soap Creek Marina have decent ramps? Does Trade Winds offer transient slips? We mostly like staying on the hook, but want to try a slip for a couple of nights. How is holiday weekend traffic? We are located about half way between Lake Lanier and the Savanah River lakes. Lanier is almost unbearable on a holiday weekend Memorial Day through Labor Day!

Thanks,
Bennett

I don't know about the Elijah State Park ramp, but the Soap Creek ramp may work if the lake is near full pool. There is the bridge on 220 that may be close for height to get under with boats our size if you launch at Soap Creek. I was just down there for 10 days clearing brush on our lot to get ready to build a house there, and crossed that bridge a couple times, and it seemed a bit low, but it is hard to tell from the road. Trade Winds dock master said they had transient slips last year when we stopped in to check the marina out, but it looked like they were unused slips that weren't leased if I had to guess.

Hey, thanks. That is something I need to check-how tall my boat is sitting in the water to the top of the TV antenna. We have only had the boat this one summer and I have approached a few bridges and turned around as I was skeptical that they were too low. I have bass fished Clark Hill many times, but it has been 20 years or so since I have been on it and back then I was not concerned about height. Thanks again.
