Fusion is D.O.A

David, have you considered just running your cabin off one head unit/amp and your cockpit off the other head unit/amp, then running one of the aux outputs from each to the other head unit? That would give you zone control and source selection at each part of the boat or everything together using the aux in. You still have an extra aux in for tv's. Using the remote is probably going to be difficult outside the axiom or in my case the garmin mfd.

No, but I like that idea!! Its like Redneck PartyBus!!!

Let me pull the manuals and map that out.

... I'm trying to decide if I can pair a remote to one head unit vs all heads on the N2K network. ...

When I added the fusion wired remote, I assigned it to a zone on my 770. Not sure if that was your question or not, but that was one of the reasons I went with the Apollo 770. When I spoke with Fusion (Garmin) about the 400, they said the 400 was more of another zone head unit and wasn't meant to be a remote.

My Garmin 7808 was purchased to plug the whole in my dash and control the fusion as well. I had tried an Axiom for the same reason and worked just as well.

I have full control using any of my 2 Furuno tztouch 2’s and also the axiom that I use for the FLIR has control of all fusion functions. Make sure your nmea2k bus is correct
Also my remote only controls the Apollo 770.

I played with it today and it now has full authority... I think it's a time thing being on the network...

For the Apollo units.. I did a software upgrade on both head units and gained some key functions for the partybus mode.
You now can stream wirelessly over partybus which is a huge difference in the past you could only partybus music if it where plugged into the usb input (phone/I touch) now you have the option of Am/Fm, Bluetooth Which frees you up to use your phone to stream the music to the head unit and use the Fusion App to control volumes etc all at the same time without being tethered to the unit. just a FYI for anyone using this series.

I think you have full control with the 8616. I have an 840xs and under the media tab, I can control just about every function on the Apollo 770 but the Partybus/Network stuff. Zones, Sources, Audio, etc.
Here is a pic from my Garmin MFD - As it ends up I do not have capability to view and change Sirius Radio channels - Something I'm not doing correctly?

Can’t help with the Sirius function I have it wirelessly so we Bluetooth Sirius xm but you have a much nicer interface than my Furuno’s it’s kinda basic.

This one is integrated via NMEA 2000. I have seen pictures where the upper half of the MFD screen mimics the display on the Fusion head unit including the capability to view and select but I can't seem to get that function of work.....

Does anyone know if the fusion radio will transmit video via blue tooth? A friend with a 400SD wants to install a 755 but doesn’t want to hassle with running HDMI from the stereo to the TV on the other side of the Salon. I’m thinking he could go with wireless HDMI if not. He has a BT dongle coming for the TV.

Not to my knowledge. Video is by HDMI

I have the 770 connected to an all-Garmin setup. I can fully control the the Fusion from any MFD including turning the Fusion on and off. My problem is that the on/off control for the 770 on the control head does not work so I have to light off the 770 by starting the navigation system and turn it off that way as well. Has anyone seen/fixed this problem before I start the Fusion support process?

do you mean you cannot power off the fusion using its own power button?

Yes, I could only power on/off using the MFD Media interface. I started a case with Fusion. The reply was "So i will say when we see this it is because the end user presses too hard on the power selection, it is not a button but also apart of the touchscreen functions." It seems to me that if you create something that looks like a button, you should be prepared for users to press it, but I kept that to myself.

In any event, it was covered since it was still under warranty, Garmin sent me an RMA and the unit is on its way back to Kansas.

I will say that I still try to press the button but I don’t lean on it I can’t imagine you pressing it that hard to break it.
also if you short press it will go into mute mode and long press is power off.

In the settings, what configuration do you have for standby mode?
When standby is active the unit doesn't completely shut down but rather sleeps (for lack of a better term) and will return active rapidly when the On/Off button is touched. This prevents that long painful boot up process.
So, you might toggle that standby configuration and see if it corrects....
Just a thought.

Anyone have a picture of the Fusion display on a Raymarine non-Axiom display? I am running v19 software but sure seem to be missing a lot...

Did you open the menu bar? Also if you don’t have a satellite source it won’t show anything switch to FM or supply a BT source I dont think it will show any more info if the source has no signal.
