Fusion Apollo MS-RA770?

ttmott, do you have pics of your install? How is everyone working around the single din opening?
Aparently this stereo is smaller than the opening.
Yes quite a bit smaller. I machined an adapter plate out of 12ga 6061T6 aluminum and coated it gloss black. The plate extends out from the Fusion bezel 0.375" on all sides which completely covers the existing cut-out and screw holes. As the Fusion mounting screws are within the existing cut-out I made a couple of tabs from 12ga stainless sheet metal (much stiffer than the aluminum) that install over the screws behind the helm which extend over the helm fiberglass and clamp the entire assembly together. I'll probably be at the boat before week's end and get you some pics.
And, regarding the RCA's to the Bose system in the Saloon; there are no line out connections on the Fusion; they are both Aux In (the bridge television uses one of the Aux in connections). So, I'll probably try to make Zone 4 a line out; set a fixed voltage. That means that the Global volume cannot be used which is not good; still working through it.

I'd love to see pics for sure. I was thinking of bringing it to a local plastics shop and have them CNC me a piece of black gloss acrylic so I could flush mount It and cover the existing hole. I was thinking of just silicone the acrylic to the fiberglass so there's no screws and I could remove it if I wanted.
I'm installing the SRX400 in the salon for a standalone/party mode unit that stereo has a line out so I was going into the Bose from there.

Almost un-noticeable.

I have a 770, set up for 3 zones. It's VERY slow to boot. Like, flip on the DC breaker and wait a full two minutes before you get any sound. It's like the old Sirius weather add-ons for plotters... fire it up FIRST and then get on with other prep. As opposed to any other boat radio out there, flip the breaker and you've got sound before you count to 5.

Pairing any android devices to it is a considerable hassle. Can't connect to their wifi, the 770 won't connect to a phone's hotspot, ugh. Likewise bluetooth, took a half-hour of trying to get an Alexa Dot to pair to it.

Their android app is terrible.

Their USB playback has zero features (no playlists, no shuffle). So don't buy it for off-shore playback from USB.

Their UI on the radio for Sirius channels is ugly, especially the presets.

The BT remotes do work, so that's a plus and have decent on-boat range. But you can't mute per zone, the mute function kills the source and thus any other zones listening to it. So if you only want to mute one zone you'll have to use the Volume - button repeatedly (and again later to bring it back up).

The hardware does seem nice, but their existing software is just not very good. Hopefully that'll change.

They're the only vendor doing what they do, but it'd sure be nice to have competition.

Update - the RCA outs on the fusion head can be configured as a fixed "line out"; there is a setting to turn "volume off" which disables the volume and tone controls for the zone. So a line out to supply fixed signal to another system is available.

I would like to have the audio from my new TV’s go into my Fusion as one of the AUX inputs. Unfortunately the Samsung TV’s I bought only have an optical audio out jack and no headphone jack or RCA out. Has anybody figured out a way to feed an optical audio out jack to go into their Fusion?

The MsRA770 does have an Optical (digital) input the Sxr400 does not

Or you can add a Gefen Toslink to analog converter (tiny little thing) which converts the Optical to RCA and keeps the Dolby encoding. I had one of these on my 400DA to resolve a ground loop noise issue and it worked great.

I actually have an analog converter on my boat that runs from the TV to the Bose come to think of it. Which is weird because the Bose has an optical input I believe[/QUOTE]

JL has a new line of speakers out - installed them the other day, fantastic. Went with M6-650, 3 pair, M6-770, M6-880 and the M12IB and a M10IB powered by 2 MHD 900/5 ‘s and the Fusion Apollo 770.
The JL Head unit had better line out voltage than the Fusion but just didnt have the functionality. So far so good but still figuring things out -

I installed the Apollo RA770 on the bridge and Sxr400 in the salon connected together via Cat5e cable
I ran RCA cables to the BOSE system so now I have Bluetooth and partbus connectivity in the salon.
I still can’t get the 770 to display correctly on my Furunos
The older 700 worked fine I spent an hour on the phone with fusion updating software but that didn’t help.
So far the sound is as expected from a Fusion I just wanted the partybus option.
For the life of me I can’t flip these pics sorry.

A bunch of us bought Fusion Apollo 770's for the Partybus feature. It does not work worth a crap. It is a pain to get connected. When it does the boats that are connected to to master all have the music cut out for a second about five or six times a minute. Have tried running it through a router, changed all sorts of settings. Software is all the latest. Delt with tech support multiple times and while they have attempted to help and Fusions official response is "that is not what this radio is intended to do.

Also hooking it to a TV is no good. The sound delay is a half a second or so because of their digital sound processor. Asked them if there was a way to turn it off for real time sound and nope.....

Many other suggestions to them on the remotes I could suggest but this party bus thing has us all so pissed off we don't care.

As a stand alone stereo its cool. Takes a while to boot and could use some software tweaks but partybus is a scam.

Isn't the Party Bus a Wi-Fi based feature? Did you verify that all of the units on Party Bus mode are within a good signal strength of the master?

I had to change the IP address and make them match the 770/400. It works flawless distance could be your problem here . put the radio on standby in the power menu and when you boot it up Everytime then on in it takes seconds.

Partybus is wifi based. I hear you 3fouroh, we had a few friends all buy them and it seems like a pain in the ass to connect and unless we are right next to the master (dhcp server) unit, we get a cutout of sound half the time. Other times at the same distance away, it is crystal clear.

Havana, when you changed the ip address on the two units was that to eliminate interference/cutout? When I spoke to Fusion, they suggested connecting each unit to a wifi router via ethernet as the 770's internal antenna/s were limited by the fcc for broadcasting. I would love to know how to connect several 770's to one router that has a decent signal...

Both mine are connected via Ethernet cat5 into my router but they work without it the distance is from the bridge to the salon
I changed the ip addresses and connected them and they work fine.
Only problem with party bus is you can’t stream music and use partybus at the same time.
No interference or cutting out it was to get them to talk to each other .
Don’t see why a boat rafted to you wouldn’t pick up the signal Wifi is much stronger than Bluetooth I believe.
