Hey everyone. We boat out of Joppa and the gunpowder river. We have been to Hart Miller island , fairlee creek and around that basic area. Any suggestions on fun things to do , cool places to see, nice places to eat from like Middle River north ??

Thanks in advance.

Are you out of Gunpowder Cove Marina? We're there, F18. We're just learning our way around too. I heard that Still Pond is nice but I haven't been.

Still Pond, Sassafras and its tributaries, Bohemia River, Chesapeake City, Havre De Grace, Sesquhanna flats.... all cool places to visit north of Gunpowder. Plenty of great places south, in both sides of the bay

If you like good restaurants I would highly recommend the Harbor Inn at Worton Creak, just across the bay from the Gunpowder. It is a nice ride and great food; in fact I would personally rate it best on the bay! Just don’t make the trip on a windy day. I personally love cruising to the Inner Harbor, they have a place down there called Nick’s Fish House, right next to the Hanover Street Bridge (turn to port at Fort McHenry and follow the channel markers) Another one with excellent food, and they have a crab desk as well, much like Waterman’s at Rock Hall. Our favorite swimming hole is Still Pond, but that is another one you need to cross the bay. Not that it is a big deal, but if the weather comes up on you the ride will get rough. For an easy ride there are several boating restaurants in Middle River, including River Watch, Carson’s Creek, and The Wild Duck (it changed owners and name this year and I don’t remember the new name). Most of the folks at the Marina know it.

In Rock Hall, our favorite is the Harbor Shack. Good food, good prices, local atmosphere, nice folks. Swan creek is a good anchorage in Rock Hall.

Check out Activecaptain.org for good info.

Awesome thanks everyone !!! Yea we are out of gunpowder cove. We have been there for 3 Seasons now. Starting to venture further away from the marina with the new boat. Guess the little extra size and engine power has made me a bit more adventurous. Lol. Anyway thanks so much for the tips. Lots to try !!

NICE.............when we hooking up?

Ravens will be playing soon; we can catch an away game down at Sunset Cove. How about Sunday September 16[SUP]th[/SUP]? We are away at Philli. That is unless you plan on doing a road trip.

Hey everyone , family and I visited Wharton creek and pheonix schoal today. Very very nice !!! The schoal was a fun place to anchor and swim. The beach there was cool and water was very nice. Any thoughts on this area or even nicer beaches / sandy bottom anchorages in the north bay?

Conquest Beach! Our favorite. But don't tell anyone else on the forum cuz we don't want it to get too crowded. PM me and I'll send you the secret map.

Thanks for the ideas... we're out of Maryland Marina (Middle River) and new to boating...3 weeks in.

Just been playing around near Hart-Miller for now.

We're in Maryland Marina as well. End of Pier 3. Swing on by when you get the chance!

Try the Sue Island Crab House on Middle river. Stop for us every trip.
