Fun Great Lake Facts

Wow, @Blueone BTW, where is the Harrisville where they found the Keystone State?

Harrisville, MI sits on the shore of Lake Huron at Latitude 44.6564 and longitude -83.2947, between Oscoda and Alpena.

Now if you have time for a tale from my high school years, I spent 2 weeks on about a 35' Matthews as guest of a friend and his parents. (We lived in Saginaw at the time). They kept their boat "Hester M" in the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club marina in Bay City. We were headed up the coast of MI to Alpena then across the lake to the North Channel and Georgian Bay and back.

We overnighted in Harrisville and, being the two devilish high school boys that we were, my friend "Drew" and I took off for town to see what trouble we could get into. It didn't take long.

We hit upon two high school girls who lived in town and when I say "hit upon" that's exactly what I mean. They took us to a local park where we got to know them better. Much better. After an hour or two they both had to head for home, so Drew and I headed back to the boat. To the best of my knowledge there are no little "Mikies" running around Harrisville.

Speaking of the Great Lakes, I see the first salty has made it to Duluth, earliest ever.
Friends back home tell me Erie didn’t freeze again this year. Should help out those who like to get in as soon as possible

I was in port Clinton yesterday and drove by my old marina and my buddy was in already…. I texted him and called him an overachiever and to bring a blanket….that’s just a bit early for me…..plus nothing is open

Quality, not quantity:)
Left Florida today, in the Carolina’s for a week at a state park campground. After 3 months in RV resorts, two of them 55+ parks, it’s kind of fun to sit around a campfire and hear kids running around having fun. No campfires at the resorts in Fl (it’s the dry season). Cool tonight. First time I’ve worn jeans in a while, feels weird. Yeah, I can wait for warmer weather to launch the boat.
