Full Synthetic Oil or Synthetic Blend?

Too bad this oil is not available with Quicksilver branding. It is a shame to have to pay the extra money for a different label.

hey Jason78. Do you know if My 280 would have come with the full synthetic in it or have the blended stuff. I am only familair with the original Merc 25-40 for the topside oil, but now I see that they have a different one. I am not sure which I have in my 06 and need to change it.

Someone posted the Mercury bulletin.

Basically they are recommend at oil change time everyone with Merc gas stern drives convert to this stuff regardless of what your manual states.

Out of cutiosity, what weight oil are people using in the boats when they switch to AMSOIL? I don't think AMSOIL offers 25W40 in their product line. Is it the 10W30 or 10W40 that is being used in the boats? I know this topic has been beat to death on this site, so I was wondering if there was something new on the market from AMSOIL. I use the diesel 15W40 in my CUMMINS diesel Dodge 3500 truck and like the product.

I am an Amsoil dealer and I swear by the stuff. Some people call it "snake oil" but the scientific data doesn't lie. Amsoil has a 10w40 marine oil they recommend to replace the OEM weight.
