Twin 350 Mercruisers
Hello, I just bought a 1986 30' Sea Ray with twin 350 merc's , carburated. As I was going over it to get it water ready, I found that the port side fuel line comes straight from the port tank to the front of the engine and into the engine mounted fuel filter- then onto the carb. However, the starboard line comes from the tank to a fuel/water separator then onto the engine mounted fuel filter (there is also a separator beside this one for the genset).
I looked underneath on the port side and did not see any clue that there used to be a separator mounted. Would anyone know why this would be? Did the 86s come factory with separators?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about the factory configuration, but I would add a water/fuel separator just to be safe considering the ethanol in fuel now. Both engines should have separators in the fuel lines.
