I've been having some problems with our 5.0 merc ! From the things I've read here I'm leaning to Vapor Lock. I have had some good luck with the suggestions I've read concerning it. Earlier in the year I had some water in my fuel and as a result of the two problems ( It's a stinker getting to the water separator filter) And the vapor problems I've been lookin into moving the pump and filter off the engine and mount it on the back wall of the back seats. (We have a 190 signature) I've just ordered a racor filter set up but what I'd like to know is the quality of the merc electric pump. Is it worth keeping..if not what should I consider to upgrade to.
