I recently priced a fuel filter for my 1992 230 Sundancer. I have the 4brl V6 210HP. The cost quoted for the fuel filter was $125. The filter is can shaped and is located between the tank and fuel pump. I was shocked by the price, but then again its a boat part so expect ot pay 2 to 3X for any part. In looking at the fuel filter closer, I noticed that the size and design was exactly the same as the fuel filter that is used on my '93 GMC Yukon (throttle body fuel injected). So my question is my can't I use an automotive fuel filter?? I recall that price for this filter was about $30. The only mod I would need to do is thread on a barbed fitting because the auto filter has SAE straight threads on both ends.
