Fuel efficiency

Dear Friends,

I am a relatively new boater. This is our third season. We have a 205 Sport witht he 5.0 litre I/O motor. What has been your experience on fuel efficiency? What RPM's run at the best fuel? Thanks

What year? EFI? Carbeurated? Generally, once you get it on plane and trimmed out, the lowest RPM that you can run and not worry about falling off plane will be about your best economy other than idling around. 3250 - 3500 RPM seems to be about right for most, depending on fuel load, bottom condition, number of people... I'm guessing around 3 mpg and 25 mph - maybe 30.
