I have another newbie question. I can’t find a fuel shut-off valve in any of my sea ray manuals. I do see three cylindrical devices below the generator that could be valves. They have what looks like a slotted stem that you could use a flat bladded screw driver to turn. Would these be the fuel shut-off valves?

thanks in advance for your help

Fuel shutoff for what exactly? There should be a solenoid valve at the fuel tank pick ups that shut off and prevent back flow.

My owners manual suggests shutting off fuel to main engines, if available, when changing gen III fuel cooler filters

I couldn’t find any shut offs on my Mag350s either. The genset has an electronic shut off. While I’m not sure, I’m guessing there’s an anti-siphon valve at the tank suction fitting.

What you describe in the first post are the valves.
You don't need to touch those valves, they're off when the engine is off.

Yes, they are electrical shut-offs and automatically close when the ig

This. Don't worry about shutting anything off - they do it automatically (manuals are sometimes generic). However there may still be some pressure built up, regardless. Just lay a rag over the cover and open/rock the cover slowly as you lift it off. It's good to be careful around fuel stuff, but you'll be fine.

All: once again thank you for your very informative replies. What raised my question is watching a utube video on changing fuel filters and the twin engine rinker had a fuel shut-off valve for each engine and they said to turn off the valves. So thanks again for the invaluable information about my boat.
