Front Stateroom TV/Restoration Marine Project

Thanks... none of this is useful to anyone unless you own a 480DB though...

I am going to sell Greg my templates for $100,000.

I'm documenting this so when I die from a heart attack next week and my wife sells the boat for $100, someone will know what is behind the curtain.

Could you ask her to call me first. I'll take the boat for $100.

Looks great Gary! What size sheet did the laminate come in? What did shipping/materials run for it? Is it a direct match??

Gary,

Aren't you curious as to whether or not all 2003 DB's are the same, dimensionally? If you make another set like that, I'll be happy to test fit it for you, no charge...

Seriously though, that is an awesome job you are doing.

Whoa, great install and thanks for sharing. The story of your TV falling and your son complaining about it interrupting his TV viewing are hilarious... I can sympathize with you on that one I am sure my kids would have the same outlook on the situation!

I am glad I only have one TV to worry about!!

I took my closet apart to get behind my entertainment system, there's 14 year old saw dust and loose screws all over the place. Don't they vacuum when they build these boats?

I have A/V envy.

At least I have my cell repeater working, kind of. You failed to mention that it takes like 8 hours to find a place to put the antenna that won't interfere with the outside antenna. I've been staring at the little green light on the amp all weekend.

Gary,

Beautiful craftsmanship. Changing the airflow from a space consuming vertical orientation to horizontal makes a stunning visual difference. Great work.

ps I'm still counting on using your project photos!

So... Here it is:

And remember... this is "before":

On the pain-in-the-ass scale with "1" being beer drinking and "10" being w!ngless, this would rate a 9.

Now where are you going to play all those VHS tapes of "Cheers"?

That's a great looking update! I also loved your PITA scale.

I don't know, the cherry doesn't seem to match. I think you need to redo it again.

I am going to redo that face frame... I ordered the wrong color... but I saved the jigs/templates so it'll be a few hour job at the most. The hard parts are done. and it's not happening until fall.

Bastard.

Hey Gary,
It really looks awesome! I know your OCD won't allow it but I would leave it as is. No one will notice except you and if some know-it-all did make the observation.....I would award him the kewpie doll then promptly dump his drink down the drain and invite him to get the F*#k off your boat!!! Todd

That wasn't very nice, I've never been on his boat and he never gave me a drink.

Gary in my world as a painting contractor, I would say that match would have no problem passing a woman designer or picky architect....You are obviously a perfectionist and I understand that.......Looks Perfect....
