hahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahah

You guys are funny.

using the data that YOU presented, the logical conclusion is that the market was in free fall until just after the speech was absorbed. . .and then it stabilized.

(of course. . .I don't believe a word of that. . . .but you guys actually think a SPEECH or lack of a speech will have any real effect on a paniced market?

Are you among the people who think that raising the debt limit gives Obama authority to spend another $2T in the next year?)

Absolutely not! He needs to work congress on getting their spending under control!

And yet. . . at least one leading Republican Presidential candidate has made that statement. . . . .

Bonus question: What budget reductions do you think the 2011 Republican House of Representatives will achieve in the next few months?

They'll probably follow the Democratic Senate and Executive branch Social Security/medicare scare tactics with some reduction recommendations in those 2 programs.

Course, we have to give the B kudos (NOT) on his leadership role in this entire mess.

I think I read he has 525 days left

To not be re-elected, the Republican party actually has to have a credible candidate.
So far. . . .I am not sure there is a credible candidate.

I agree that B sounded the deficit reduction trumpet very late in the game. HOWEVER, the Republican party sure made a very poor showing in the whole affair.

May not work, but if one was dealing with gas prices, the media would sure claim it was the reason why an increase was taking place, or would that be to big a deal? How about a pipe line leaked in Po-Dac dumping 10,00 gallons of crude, leading to a run on gas prices? :smt043:smt043:smt043

Actually, I was out of town at the time and didn't know what was going on. But, I did see some good stocks getting really hammered, so, I bought.
Sold all on the upside two days later. Helped pay for my vacation! If that was from Obama running his mouth, well then, rave on Obama.
