Just wondering if anyone has ever installed a freshwater washdown on their boat. I would like to have one near the bcak of the boat near the swim platform. I assume I would need a tank, pump etc.

I have a 2008 230 Select.

Hey neighbor...
I have done the exact project on a 07 230 Select. It was really easy if you have some basic plumbing and elec skills. I purchased a tank on line that fit in front of my trim pump on the port side. I made sure it had a fill fitting and vent fitting. I attached it to the floor with SS brackets and a nylon strap. I then found a 12Volt diaghram (on-demand) pump on line as well. I ran the ground to the terminal from the trim pump, the positive went to the accy switch at the helm. I then bought a hand held shower head on line and mounted it above the trim pump under the walk thru lid. I purchased all the plastic water lines and fitting from the diff marine suppliers in the area..
I can take pics if your interested. It is a simple design but works flawless. It really helps washing down the salt and mud from our "beautiful" clearlake and taylor lake water..
It also helps to keep the carpet a bit cleaner if your able to rinse the kids everytime they get back into the cockpit area.....

Another thing to consider. Install two. One of mine is freshwater from the potable water tank. The other has a different colored hose so you do not mix them and uses lake water. If you are in a clean body of water, the lake water option is a great way to wash the bugs off your boat in the morning without using up your tank water.
