freshwater holding tank pump

I recently have had my pump stop pumping on my 310 sundancer,so i went to marine chain store and pump was 130.00...older fella in store overheard my conversation and told me to go to a rv store and i did,saved almost 30.00 and pump is larger one...its great when you can think outside the box...hope this helps a little.....

is that pump ignition protected (like marine pump should)? or there could be " big boom" and $30 in your pocket. I wonder how much faster rv pump will rust compare to marine product?
