fresh water vs raw water cooling

Most mechanics I've spoken to say a raw water cooled saltwater engine has a ten year life expectancy anything more is borrowed time. It still comes down to the owners expectations for the boat and how long he plans on keeping it?

 

Hi Folks ... I am looking for a recommendation for a full fresh water cooling system for a 7.4 ... as there appears to be loads of options out there, what source / manufacturer seems to be the best quality and most trustworthy? Thanks ...

Thanks Hawk! So, did you order through 1800runsnew or via aftermarket.monitorpro? runsnew shows a price of $1260 vs $1764 at monitor ... and, how was the curomer service, and did you send them photos of your engine before ordering?

 

I ordered through ppt, but I don't like to reward bad service... $1,260 is a good price. I'd probably give them a chance. I don't think ppt is selling them anymore.
I sent photos, but they claimed it wouldn't fit. I knew better so I bought it. No fitment issues and my bilge is tight.
