Does anyone know it there is a cleanout port on the water tank in the 44 DB? I know the tank is under the single berth nearest centerline in the guest cabin, but I can't tell if there is a cleanout I'm missing or not. The water sat for quite a while before we bought it, and smells somewhat like an old gym bag. I'd like to get into it to wipe it all down, spray with bleach, etc.
Any assistance appreciated.

Don't think there is a cleanout. We get some stuff from our Sea Ray dealer called tank wash. It works really good. We use the tank all the time so it stays clean and fresh. Ours stunk bad when we got it, Guy always used the hose fitting from the dock and never much used the tank.

I have used bleach, cheap vodka and baking soda over the years... The big thing is to use it constantly. We use the washing machine often and that uses a 1/4 tank right there.

There are a few DIY methods for cleaning out water tanks on the net. Mostly RV forums.

Depending on how large a tank you have you can find charts on how much bleach to add and the dwell time for the solution. Once you fill the system up and get it into every faucet and shower ...... you take the boat out for some agitation time to allow the solution to slosh around the entire tank. Then drain the system and fill with fresh water.

A few oz of bleach in the water every fill up will do the trick to keep your tank nice and fresh. It's not very much and you don't even smell it.....or you can use commercially available drinking water treatment.

I guess mine is the exception. We use our water tank very sparingly, but the water is just like the dock water. I do run all of it through an RV filter though.

I have never had an issue on any boat I have owned. However there are numerous methods to clean it up.
