So I replaced the original fresh water pump on my 2005 320 since it quit running.

install went smooth but now the pump wont stop running unless I turn it off on the panel. Water runs out of faucets with the occasional surge. Assuming there is air in the lines? How do I pressurized the system, if that’s what it need?

When o turn the pump on from the panel I don’t hear the normal sound for a few seconds that then stops.
Don’t want to burn this one out any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Make sure your connections at the pump are secure and fully inserted/screwed in

Make sure the tank is full.

Make sure the hot water heater tank is full.

Go around to each faucet and keep it open till a solid stream comes out. Generally, start at the one furthest aways.

Usually the water pumps used are able to run dry without damaging them so I wouldn't worry about that.

You could be having air leaking into the water supply line/fittings or the filter just before the pump is plugged with debris. Either of those can cause the pump not to provide enough pressure to the water system for the pump to shut off.

Yeah it’s so annoying. I cleaned the filter there was a little debris but nothing to clog things. Re tightened everything but still running.
I can see the water going through the lines and it looks like bubbles in the line.
I’ll keep trying. I don’t think I have a leak anywhere since I can’t find any water and the tank has stayed at full.
Pump does say it can run dry but I thought that meant if the tank is empty you wouldn’t have to re-
Pressurize the system. I read another thread that someone stated they had to do it if the tank ran dry.
He would loosen the outlet port as the pump runs and the air supposedly leaves.
I tried that and it actually helped all faucets with good flow but pump still doesn’t shut off.

Maybe your pressure valve is faulty……

So it sounds as if you have a leak in the suction side as @Lazy Daze and @Jimmy Buoy eluded to. I had a cracked inlet filter (poor winterizing from a PO) that acted the same way. It's not so much the air in the line that causes the issue, but the air accumulating in the water heater that then acts as a large accumulator.

How do I go about troubleshooting that?
If you have the room, install a temporary suction line on the inlet of the pump, dip it into a full five gallon bucket of water, and start purging water/air from your faucets. Make sure to not let the bucket run dry, or you'll have to start over. If it then begins to run properly, you've got an air leak in the suction line.
