1997 270 sundancer. I have great water pressure at all taps for about 20 seconds then turns to a trickle. I doesnt seem to matter how full or nearly empty the fresh water tank is. I have cleaned the filters at all stations. Does the pump need replacing or rebuilding or???
Thanks for the help. There doesnt seem be a leak anywhere, as when the fresh water system is powered up, it does not run unless there is a demand, this could be several hours...so I dont think I have a leak.

HMM well my thoughts would be that the pump head needs to be re-built or replaced. If you have good pressure to start and then it dies off and the pump keeps running while there is demand it seems to indicate that the pump can't keep up the pressure. Also if the pump turns, with the faucets closed, off once pressure is reached it would also seem to indicate that it can produce some pressure and that your system is holding the pressure so no leaks...

If you have the shureflo model you can get a replacement head for the pump for around $60 on line.. Google shurflo pump kit. I've seen re-build kits at West marine for even less, that have the gaskets and diaphrams in them for the pump head. Its up to you whether you want to bolt on a new one or rebuild the one on there. If you can get access easily to the pump, remove it and bolt on the new pump head.

One warning if you have the 15mm slide in whale connectors on the water supply chances are they are on their last legs too, so its best to buy some new ones as I have found once you start pulling them apart they just don't go back together due to the many seasons of sitting in the engine room heat... Just my experience. Also when you cut the wires on the pump put on some quick disconnect barrel connectors because you will need to do it again at some time for sure!.

Here is a sample, just google under your pump manf. number.

Best of luck to you as I just traveled that road this season!

These folks carry a large supply of the fittings.

Thanks for the reply, after using any tap, for lets a minute, the pump runs for about a minute. I have cleaned the filter at all taps and at the pump.
Thanks for your help.
