Freighters at Sault St Marie, Michigan aerial Video

We are camping near the Soo locks in Sault St Marie, Michigan and I was able to get the DJI Phantom Quadcopter with the GoPro video camera out to take some video. It has been pretty windy and rainy up here! Here are some clips I edited. http://www.jimandsusan.com/freighters-at-the-soo-locks.html

I have owned this quadcopter for less than 2 weeks. I have never had a Remote Control anything before this. It is actually pretty easy to fly this quadcopter out of the box. I probably had an hour (several flights) of video that I edited down to the 1 minute and 30 second video I posted! I was scared ^%$less that I would crash this in the St Mary's river and never recover the DJI Phantom Quad Copter and my GoPro video camera.

I was curious to if you had covered more of the UP or was planning to. I always encourage folks to hit the Keweenaw Peninsula if they can.

We are not going to make it the the Keweenaw this time, we did enjoy Houghton/Hancock and Copper Harbor the last couple of times we have been there. Maybe next year!

I am surprised this is legal with Homeland security. But still very cool. When I was growing up, my family would spend 2weeks in Hessel Mi, and would always spend a day at the Soo.

Homeland security guys were all over the place and watching my copter fly. They didn't seem to care!
