Freezer for 420 aft cabin

Just purchased an '01 SR 420 Aft Cabin and need to replace the
freezer. It's a freezer only and not a combo refrigerator/freezer.
110V. The original unit was a Marvel but checking with them they don't sell a freezer only unit anymore. Any help in
locating a manufacturer of 110V under the counter freezer unit
would be appreciated. Needs to be 20in. wide.

Have you considered just replacing the refrigeration components (compressor, evaporator) e.g. the "guts" of the unit, rather than replacing the entire unit?

I might be able to help. I have a freezer in mine and was thinking of changing it for a plumbed ice maker. I actually found a replacement but since I have the freezer already it was not a $ priority. I could take measurements this weekend, confirm the fit and possibly work a deal - unsure about shipping though, if you are interested. I still wonder why they put just the freezers in without the icemaker - are you sure thats what you want?

You might want to state what kind of problem you are having as the 01 420AC unit as it is installed with out any vent ports to let condenser heat out or cooler air in. A ew unit might have the same problem.

You might want to tell us what your unit will or want do before you just change out the unit.

Good feedback. Since it wasn't working and the unit was almost 10 years old I felt that
replacing it was the best option.Plus the wife wanted stainless steel! However I have
had a qualified guy look at it and he got the unit working again.We'll have to see for how long.He said the Marvel freezer that came with the boat was a high quality unit.That and the difficulty I had in locating a similar replacement unit (Marvel doesn't make a freezer only unit anymore). So thanks for the feedback and let's hope that we can get a couple more years service from the Marvel.
