Free AIS program

I'm probably way behind on this but my son-in-law just clued me in that I can see world-wide AIS sitting in my chair. Here's the link for all you other out of touch codgers. It's free.

Yep, you missed out on that conversation. There was a thread on which was is best that also talked about online sites and what was available. That said, if you join the site you can get the history on your boat's recent travels and port info.
 
My boat contributes data to Marine Traffic as well as to Vessel Finder. Marine Traffic also has an iOS app that will contribute your positional data even if you do not have an AIS receiver.

If you have an AIS transmitter, chances are someone in your area receives it and forwards that data to one or more AIS aggregation services.
