Foul Smell when using heads...

I have a 2004 SeaRay Sundancer 420 that has been great but the past few weekends when we use the toilets it is a very foul smell that you can only smell from outside the boat or back deck. Inside you dont smell it...we have had it pumped and tablets put down the toilets to prevent this, but still has a pretty strong smell.

Any suggestions?

Third party works fine as well. The first link is if you just need the filter. Its a garden hose fitting and screws right into the top of you tank (if you can reach it).

If you want to relocate it...the second unit has mounting clips. Youll need some additional gargen hose fitting from local hardware store and some sanihose.

1/2 to 2/3 less than the brand name.

Stop eating those Burritos. :)

Sorry. Couldn't help it. It was teed up. Lord I apologize.

Agreed. Mine was pretty easy, under the port side cockpit floor. Took about 5 minutes to change out. I had the same issue.

I bought the Voker one - I'm very satisfied and half the cost of the sealand. FYI it's also an exact fit.

Definitely change the filters, but also be sure when you pump out you rinse the waste line from the deck fitting down. Since I use No Flex, I make some in a cup and pour it down the deck fitting. Smell usually goes away after that. If your system is backing up, you may want to replace the pressure relief filter on the tank. Most people are not aware of this, but it does go bad after a while, and this could also be contributing to the odor.

Voker is what I use!
I’ve been in the bilge of your model (420) boat and it’s really easy to get to.
Once you change it, ask around for a recommendation for a good head treatment.
I started using “Noflex Digestor” after others here recommended it. Not cheap, but it works great.
