I recently acquired a 1995 180 BR. It has a forward thru hull on the starboard side with tubing that extends down past the driver seating area and into the bilge. I can find no explanation for the existence of this thru hull and I see no pump in the bilge. Can someone tell me what this is for??

How far forward and what size/type of hose? Is the hose just laying there "open" in the bilge?

Thru Hull is on starborard side about even with bow seat back cushion. Hose descends to forward bilge but I cannot see it to determine if it connects to anything.

My starboard forward through hull fitting is a fuel tank vent hose. It's a fairly large diameter hose. The hose is behind a removable piece of carpeted panel and descends down to the forward Bilge after a anti-siphon loop. If I remove the flooring plate over the tank I can see where the vent hose connects to a 90 degree elbow at the tank. The fitting looks nothing like a bilge pump through hull though. It's a round chromed fitting about an inch across with a small hole facing the waterline and a screen inside the hole. It's just aft of my windshield on a 200 Overnighter.

No clue if that info will be helpful to you.

Can you trace back down the hose, into the bilge, to identify what it connects to?
