If you have generously donated to the site using the "Support the Site" link above then you get an icon next to your username when posting. We have made it through a year since sponsorships became available so some are starting to expire. When they expire the icon will disappear as will any extra privileges. If you are happy with the site and want to continue your support please renew using the link above.

Jim, I'd like to make a suggestion. Offer 3 memberships. Silver 25, Gold 50, Platinum 100. I think you will get more people willing to jump up to a Gold membership for 50 bucks then they would for a hundred. Current Gold members get upgraded to platinum until it's time for their renewal. Just my .02. Brian

OK, your idea makes sense and has been implemented. Anybody that was already a Gold Sponsor is now a Platinum Sponsor. I really appreciate you folks thinking enough of this forum to help support it. It has really helped me to buy Licenses, and hire programmers etc to keep it running smoothly. A huge thank you goes out to Wes, Stihlbolts and Capt_Jack too for providing their time.

Thank you Jim for allowing us into your place when we need a new home. Will we get an email before they expire?
Wes, Richard, Jack keep up the good work!

An email is supposed to go out, but I am not sure if they are going out. Anybody get one yet?

If you go into your user control panel there is a link toward the bottom left that says "Paid Subscriptions". This will likely let you know when it will expire.

I got the email and have already renewed.

Is there a way to see when ours expires? I'd like to know since I do not get emails anymore.

Jim, I got the e-mail about it last Thursday... a day after my PM to you about renewals...

When your signed in at the top you will see "userCP" click on that. Over on the left is a control panel and towards the bottom you will see "paid subscriptions" Click and it will show when your current membership expires.

Jim just curious, when did a voluntary contribution become a subscription? As I recall the contribution thing began when you had to upgrade the software and hosting ... and even then you declared this site would always be a FREE site for all users.

Did I mids understand you then, or now?

May be going out on a limb here .....

It's still a voluntary contribution, but when you do contribute you get extra benefits. If you don't want to support the site you don't have to contribute. Jim did not say you would not have access to the open/general area of the site.

"Subscription" is just the word the software uses. Call it whatever you want. The site doesn't cost you anything to use. The people that donate get extra storage space, and pm space, etc. No big deal, you can donate or not.

I've never seen the email, I'll have to figure out how to view it and change that.

The email I got actually said if I did not renew, I would lose access.

That was just your email Gary. Jim figured you would pay twice as much to keep access. Just kidding.

You should feel lucky, I did not even get the email. Must have been when the site was having email problems.

Chad,

Also in regards to the sponsorship, that was something that several of the members brought up to Jim, he rejected, it was brought up again, he rejected. After getting several request it was decided to add the sponsorship. Again there is hardly any mention of it like you will see on other boards but it is there for the members that feel like they would like to do something. It takes one good answer to a question to justify the payment for the year in my opinion but again times are tough for everyone and it is completely optional.

Wesley

OK Gary, I fixed that email. Took me a while to find the template. If you guys and gals are getting any other goofy emails let me know. I don't get any of them and I don't know what the site is sending out, depends on what people have subscribed to, etc.
