For Sale 2003 Sea Ray sedan bridge

Hey Ken,

Do you know of any 2003 400 DB's that have sold out here? I am curious. All of the ones that I am aware of that have sold are 2002's or older, and there are very few with Cummins 450's around. What have you seen?

Thanks

Not exact, but a point of reference. A 2003 Meridian 411 with 5.9 motors, decently equipped (not bad/not great/no Air Conditioning) is going for 240k-ish. It's a turn-key boat.

I wouldn't call a 40 foot boat with gas motors and no A/C turn-key. Not here in Fl. anyway.

The 5.9 is a B series Cummins motor. I don't know where you get gasser's from? the 350 block is a 5.7 gasser, not a 5.9. It was common for Meridians in that era to not have reverse cycle installed. Kept the price down. Fortunately, we aren't talking about Florida. The question was asked in the context of the West Coast.

Sorry, I saw it was an 03 and quite a few Meridians down here were gas. My bad, but would still love air!

That's about the price range I have seen as well, again, the '03 400DB is a pretty rare one to find. It's an outstanding boat that benefits from several updates over the model's life.

I'm confused. Does this boat have the high output 450hp 6CTA motors in it and actually produces 450hp at 2600rpm? I checked the Sea Ray website for this year and the highest output engine listed was the same 417hp (or 430hp at 2600rpm depending on who is talking) 6CTA that is in the previous year(s) models.

I'm new at using it, but a quick look on soldboats does not show any 2003 400DB's sold between January 2014 and today.

The 6CTA 8.3 Mechanical motors -- aka the 450 Diamonds (I think) are a 413/430hp motor (you are right, depends on how is talking). That's a full mechanical motor that is considered High Output I believe.

The 6CTA 8.3 480CE motors, have the electronic fuel computers - those are the true 450/480hp output. They run up to 2680RPM and are electronically limited there.

Got it. Thanks. I didn't see where the OP indicated he had the 480CE in his 2003 400DB. Did not know they were available for that year model.

I actually have not seen a 2003 sell and agree most selling are 2002 or older. I know of a gas one sold for about $129K but that is not a good comp. I would love to see prices continue to increase. Boats are selling here but they have to be a good deal or they sit. This particular boat, with the higher HP engines, may be able to stay up around $200K. At least I hope so since my boat is the same year.
