I have a 220SD and the bucket seats have a raised cushion to improve the view.

I'm thinking of installing a foot rest about 18 inches off the ground and attaching it to the consol.

I know there are after market foot rests but I think I will have trouble attaching it to the curved consol.

Does anyone have a foot rest installed?

I assume you're talking about the flip up bolster? It lets you sit up on the bolster?

In my 240 I don't have any problem keeping my feet on the floor with it up, and I almost always have it up.

The thing I'd be concerned about it stability if you're sitting that high up and needing to raise your foot position by 18".

When the admiral is driving she will pull the seat all the way forward. That way she can place her feet on the curved part . Of course ours is the 240 also.

I sit on a throw cushion on top of the thigh rise bolster and have no problem touching the floor. I usually only have left foot on the floor and the other using crossing at the ankle or put might have left on floor and the right on the shelf (ledge) to my right. I'm only 5'10' so not like I'm a giant or anything!

I kinda interesed in why you need 18" of lift!

I'm guessing at 18 maybe it will be 12. I'm 5'8" and when sitting on the thigh rise bolster I can reach the floor but if I sit back I can't.

I'm just looking for something more comfortable when going through long no wake areas.

In the 280 Sundancer we have one built in. I never use it. I flip up the seat bolster and lean on it.

Most of the time I stand. This allows me to more easily scan from side to side and rear.

Try using a small cooler or a cardboard box filled with something hard and see if you would use it if you had one before you drill holes installing one.
