You guys are not going to believe this. If you are relatively conservative and not likely to take chances or go out on a limb, don't read on.

They finished the bottom paint yesterday and splashed the boat today. I had to go pick it up. SEVERE storms passed earlier, and we were left with dead, calm fog. I had to dinghy about 8 miles through the sound with only the sun for navigation. I couldn't see land. I couldn't see the sun most of the time, or even tell where it was. Vis was about 100 feet.

I looked at the angle of the sun relative to my slip before departing, then watched my wake to make sure I was going straight. I didn't see land for about 5 miles, but was pretty much on course. After seeing land, I had it intermittantly for the last 3 miles. Then, I got on the 340 and reversed course:

Work In Progress: Barring errors, should be complete now. Sometimes video sound isn't good until second day.

John,
We cant see the pics. But from what you wrote maybe we are seeing about the same thing you did!

Glad you are safely home.

Sorry, work in progress - They are from my phone, so I had to delete all of them and start over to ensure they were in the right order. My phone doesn't make it really easy to tell.

whatcha doin out there in a dinghy anyway?? Did I miss something?

Looks like a typical Winter day in the Delta! :wow:

Sure hope the military/cargo ships in the area had good radar so they could see you.(Grin)

Magellan would be proud of you!

Still no sound on the videos though. At first I thought maybe you had some kind of funky pyscho shower scene music theme going on, but now I think it's a photobucket problem.

I'm not sure why.
