Straight Drives
You guys are not going to believe this. If you are relatively conservative and not likely to take chances or go out on a limb, don't read on.
They finished the bottom paint yesterday and splashed the boat today. I had to go pick it up. SEVERE storms passed earlier, and we were left with dead, calm fog. I had to dinghy about 8 miles through the sound with only the sun for navigation. I couldn't see land. I couldn't see the sun most of the time, or even tell where it was. Vis was about 100 feet.
I looked at the angle of the sun relative to my slip before departing, then watched my wake to make sure I was going straight. I didn't see land for about 5 miles, but was pretty much on course. After seeing land, I had it intermittantly for the last 3 miles. Then, I got on the 340 and reversed course:
Work In Progress: Barring errors, should be complete now. Sometimes video sound isn't good until second day.
