I am looking for a nice place to take our 40' RV and camp/boat. I would prefer a place with a slip, but I can always launch if there is only a ramp. :smt017

Probably the the best in Florida is the St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach FL. It is probably the nicest , most uncorrupted by humans, and best maintained state facility you will find. They have camping areas on the protected bay, a launch ramp and a sea wall lined cove for boats , or you can moor just off the camping area. The park is with in a 5 minute drive of some of the best reataurants in the State as well as the usual tourist stuff.

The park is bordered by Grand Lagoon on the north and the Gulf of Mexico on the south........just across the main channel entrance to the Port of Panama City, the park continues on a barrier island.

It is a very neat spot..........we visited there every year until we bought a house in the area.

Do you have photos of that place Frank?

I visit Florida twice, I visit the Keys and than the normal route Everglades Park, Naples, Ft. Myers, Sarasota, St Petersburg, Tampa, Orlando, Melbourne, West palm beach, FT.Lauderdale and Miami.
Very nice places!!
I was not in the opportunity to cruise on a boat, but that is my dream for the future..

So if you have some pics that would be great!

Peter

Sorry, Peter, I do not.

The photo of my boat in the avatar is taken while anchored at the island which is part of the state park. We live there, and go by the park every day on the way out in the boat, so it would be like taking a photo of your back yard........its just a beautiful place we tend to take for granted and I never thought to take any photos.

In the right in this photo you can see a part of the island that makes up the uninhabited portion of the park.

Ok thanks Frank,

I know that situation, we also go most of the weekends to a lake with little islands, I also have no pictures from the lake or the islands...
When we go on a holiday trip a few weeks than we take a lot of them.

When our children are a few years older we want to make a trip to Florida and then we want to rent a cruiser for a couple of days.

So maybe I also need your advice.

Ok back on topic.

Peter

Renting the boat sounds good to me
