FLIR Navigator Thermal Imager

I use the navigator II model and am very happy with it. I first tried the model that does not pan or tilt and foundout that was only good for long distance imaging but not up close (about 50 to 300 yards). With the fixed mount, you will try to steer or point the boat back and forth too much to scan the area infront of you and that really becomes a safety problem since you are constantly turning the boat and confusing the other boats that are under way in your immediate area. As far as the image quality, it is betty than I thought it would be. I feed the image into one of the E120 units on the dash and that in turn feeds my televisions in the cabin so I can watch around me if I am overnighting on the hook. It really does make a difference in rain or fog when used in conjunction with radar.

Hope this helps.
