I could not find a good fishing thread so let's make one. Fishing Set-ups, gear and of course fish stories with pics.

I am guessing I am not the only one that had to compromise with the family and as such I use my SR for fishing. I would love to see some planer board set-ups and how you mounted the pulleys and crank wheel

Glad to see this thread get started. I'd be interested to see how folks have outfitted their DAs for fishing. For example, what type/brand of rod-holders and how they were mounted.

Mine came with rocket launcher and two holders mounted on each side as well as two holders in each gunnel. I have a CISCO 3 holder with gimbal mount on each side in one of the holders.

thanks, so those holders are flush mounted or just bolted onto the gunnels?

Hey, you're missing one spot. You could have had a full 15!

Nice job on getting them placed strategically. You have the best of both worlds whether deep sea trolling or even if you find a piece of drift where you need to get out the spinning rods and can get Mahi.

I'd love to find a enough nerve to drill the gunnels for flush mounted rod holders but haven't had the courage as yet. To try and wing it I just bought two of the Taco Marine clamp on rod holders for each side of the tower.

My brother and I love to fish too but more often than not the grand kids and nieces and nephews win out with tubing and snorkeling trips.

Welcome to the forum!

Maybe I'll see you on Catawba or run into at one of the other islands!

Cheers

Likewise! I'll be in hopefully March 28th at the latest! I'm ready!

Tonight's episode of New England Fishing is all about fishing Buzzards Bay... I wish I was back on the water... we're getting a blizzard tomorrow instead!
At least I can remember warmer times:

I'm hoping to learn how to walleye fish this year. Just started perch fishing 2 summers ago.

I'm looking for a center console or walkaround so I can go whenever I want and take day trips to the islands without having to take my house!
