Fishing report- Northern Saginaw Bay area

The downriggers I have on my boat are Scotty electrics. They are pretty heavy duty and are very popular in British Columbia and Alaska.

We do a lot of salmon tournaments and you need a strong fast downrigger for the job.

Well,i finally got the lines wet saturday. Why i dont know ,5 hrs of trolling produced two walley ,8" and 13". It was a nice day for a slow cruise though.

Glen,
It sounds like the bigger fish moved up near Port Austin and some are around in front of Grindstone already.

The inner bay is slowing down by the sounds of it. Time for salmon again!

There some just NW 11-15 feet off of Little Charity. Real nice eaters. Glen, need to go 1.5 with crawlers.

I can go 1.5 or 1.8 ,1.9,2.5 etc. when we were on vacation in port austin two sundays ago the walley were just starting to go good.I will try callahan reef this weekend and simming near oakpark .I am not set up for salmon and have never been salmon fishing but ity sounds fun, mabey i will try a charter sometime. Are the jumbo perch still around port austin?

I have not heard anything on perch in PA. I'm sure the guys who get them will probably be pretty quiet about it..lol.

Check out this video of the salmon tourney we did in Harbor Beach this past spring. I'm the guy in the orange coat holding a nice king. I understand this is going to Hollywood to entice moving developers to the thumb area.

Has anyone been out to get a hold of the perch yet? Thinking I need at least one more trip before I have her pulled this year.

Sorry I already puller and stored HER in the pole barn, now waiting for spring

Still a little early, the Bay is pretty choppy today. I'll be trying again this weekend if the weather is ok.

No reports from my buds, but they have not been out either due to the high winds.

I'm thinking later this week, maybe over the weekend, or possibly next weekend. If I'm lucky maybe it will be all of the above! I will let you guys know how it goes.
