Thanks for posting this is great. How much does the boat weigh, and with trailer, and what’s the tow rating for the F250? Diesel truck?

The boat by itself I'm estimating weighs in around 13,500lbs to 14,000lbs. The boat and trailer together are 16,500lbs and the whole package is 25,320lbs. Now if you just straight google 2018 F250 tow capacity one of the first things that comes up in big numbers is 12,300lbs to 13,300lbs. This isn't necessarily correct, there is a huge range and after reading through the manual, it's based on type of engine, rear end gear ratio, layout (4x4 vs 2x4, single cab vs super cab vs crew cab), and tow package. This F250 has the 6.7 diesel, 3.31 gears, 4x4, crew cab, and the heavy tow package. This makes its gross combination weight rating 25,700lbs, and according to Ford's chart its conventional towing capacity is 17,500lbs.

That being said the truck did really well. Surprisingly well, for what I considered at the beginning to be just an F250. I was a little leery about its capability. But it had plenty of power and the weight to handle that big boat and trailer. When the exhaust brake is on with the transmission tow mode on they work great together with the cruise control. I was going down 6% grades without any brake input, the truck was taking care of everything and holding that speed.

The zebras are terrible. We're on Lake Ontario, where this boat came from, and they're everywhere. They've destroyed fish populations (with the help of the Gobi, which eats all the food that bass usually live on as well as their eggs)

Just last year a 19' bow rider scraped his boat in the fall after a season in Irondequoit bay, he filled TWO 5 gallon pails with them

That's terrible, I definitely understand the emphasis. For all the cleaning and inspecting, the inspectors of all the three states tried as hard as they could to keep me going on my way and to not disrupt my trip time line.
