Congrats on the new Boat
Thanks! I’m excited, there are some interior cabinetry and trim pieces that are a little soft and need to be adressed, and I want to reseal all the hatches and portlights but over all I’m happy and excited about it.

Welcome! Looks great. Share some specs on her!
Thanks!

It's a 98 330 Sundancer with twin 7.4 380 HP Mercruiser Horizon engines, 370 hrs, bought it in Red Creek, NY and am trucking it to Tacoma, WA. It came with the trailer which will be for sale in another 2,500 miles. It was new in Colorado and shipped to South Carolina for a few years then spent several years in Virginia before it made its way to Lake Ontario. Two owners ago it sat for quite a bit on the hard in covered storage, the PO purchased it and used it quite a bit. Now it's mine and headed for the Puget Sound.

It has the factory cockpit enclosure as well as the cockpit cover which is on it right now for travel. I plan on eventually getting a new camper style cockpit enclosure for it with the squared off back. There are some interior trim pieces and cabinetry with some rot that need to be rebuilt as well as the engine hatch which is soft to walk on, I'm sure I'll find more, but the survey said that the hull and rest of the deck were solid and all of the systems work well.

I may have taken on more than I anticipated with purchasing it and now transporting it across the country on my own. But I thought it was a decent price and am really excited about it. I looked at a ton of boats before I settled on one 2,700 miles away from home and if nothing else this is another adventure.

Cool boat and an even better story! Wish you a great trip. Thanks for taking us along.

Nice boat, I have a 1996 best boat ever. Let me know once u have the trailer up for sale.

Welcome! Boating is always an adventure and not all of takes place on the water as you have learned trailering it home. I consider all my time working on it also as part of boating too - part of the fun is learning about all the ins and outs. Enjoy and best of luck!

Pretty sure I saw that boat listed for a while on the Rochester craigslist. Looks nice, good luck!
Thanks! Very possible, not sure how long it had been up when I found it.

Congrats - that's a great boat.

Wow - I can't imagine a 330DA "tailgating" me for 2,700 miles! My knuckles would probably be permanently gripped to the wheel by the time I hit Ohio. :D

Thanks! Yes definitely an adventure! I can’t wait for the water part of it to start. LOL I’ve been reading write ups and blogs about repairs, maintenance, and custom stuff for months and I love tinkering on things.

That’s what it looks like in the rear view. LOL It’s not too bad on the freeways and highways knowing the only over legal dimension is the width since we took the radar off. It was sketchy going through town to get to those freeways and highways though.

Congrats - that's a great boat.

No chaser required for that?

This girl towed too easily.

I had her loaded tongue-heavy. The truck didn't care, and the stability was awesome. The problem was it was too heavy for the actuator, so at one point in traffic and slick roads, I dragged the brakes. My first "thought" was actually, "bummer - someone's losing an engine". Then I realized the smoke was coming from my trailer brakes. (brand new btw)

She's now sitting 15" further back. I haven't pulled her yet. The actuator will be happy, but I can only hope I don't lose stability.

Funny thing about a 280: They're 28 feet long. The 330 is probably close to 37'?

Chaser? Negative. Under 12’ wide and all other dimensions legal, at least no state that I’m going through is requiring me to have one.
