Ohio, dock at Marblehead
Hello,

My name is Laurel and my husband, John, our 3 children & I live outside Dayton, Ohio. Two years ago, we inherited a trailer (needs some work) on the lake between Marblehead and Put-in-Bay, on Lake Erie. We've been coming up to the trailer a few times a summer the last few years, but this year....we bought our boat (!), so I expect we'll be here more.

It's our first boat and we're both pretty new at it...mostly childhood and teen experiences. We're both in love with it...it's a 1969 SRV185, in nearly perfect shape. We put it in the water this weekend and found a few things that weren't perfect: the prop is pretty damaged, and the cable for reverse gear isn't right. Still. We still love it.

Looking forward to learning more and meeting people.

Laurel

Laurel, Glad to see you on board. Good luck with your almost new boat. Post some pics of the ole girl when you get a chance. JC

welcome to another Buckeye!

Laurel & John,

Welcome - Good to have another Buckeye on board.

You are in a great area for boating. Growing up I spent most of my summers in the area. Still get up there as much as possible.

If I am reading your model correctly, I believe it is an 18 footer. If going out on Lake Erie, always keep an eye on the weather. It can change in a hurry and being relatively shallow it can also get rough in a hurry. It can be difficult in a smaller boat.

Hope to see you on the water sometime.

Are you signed up for MM-Catawba Island Aquapalooza? It is scheduled for July 26 at Kelly's Cove - Kelley's Island. It would be nice to get a group of CSR members there!
