I'm on Lake Travis in Texas. Looking forward to being apart of the forums. I've already learned much. The dealer I bought this from is trying to keep it running for more than 30-40 minutes at a time. Let me know who else has this 268. I hope that I'll get some good insight into the operations of this particular model. Boating season is here in Central Texas.

We just purchased the same boat here in Delaware. This forum was a motivating factor in purchasing it, alot of good information, pics and resources. Can't wait for the warm weather to get here. Good luck with your boat.

Welcome-I traded for my 268 last year and really enjoyed boating last summer. So far I have had no problems-just turn the key and boat...Hope your problems are fixed. Its a great boat...

There's water in the boat somewhere and it's not in the bilge. It pumped out at least 20 gallons the other day when I got it out of the lake to take for service. WOT is not possible even after a carb overhaul and cleaned lines and supposedly the cleaned the feul tank also. That's the major things goiing on. Don't mind the little stuff that I can deal with. Let me know what you think.

I am no expert on these things but I would check the prop pitch to make sure it is correct this boat/motor use. Then ch. plugs, wires and distributor. If nothing found, run a compression check...If nothing found, you may have a correlation between the water found (extra weight) and the boats inability to reach WOT RPM...I will yield the floor to more experienced heads at this point....

Hello all, first time post. We have owned a 1988 Searay 268 for the last 10 years and have had a wonderful experience with it. We currently keep it in Bellingham Wa (in the water full time) and would like to relocate it to Northern California soon. Since I do not have a trailer I am looking for imformation on type/model of trailer needed for this type of boat and any other ideas on how to move it.......Thanks
