Realized today I never updated my avatar or ever posted pics of our new to us 48 sundancer. A bit late but a few shots as we close out our first season with the boat. Its amazing how time gets away from you getting the project list done of everything we wanted updated/changed.

Tom,
We go into heated storage in a week or two. I will try to get some pictures. We had some very slight delamination starting and I am a bit anal so we redid a decent amount of the interior. Searched high and low for the correct cherry finish and could never find the right color. I will try to post what we ended up with but we are very happy with the results.

Other than that new sound system, electronics, and a pile of little updates/maintenance items.

Love the boat. Still surprised how well the boat runs at cocktail cruise speed and on plane. It feels almost effortless and she is very well mannered around the dock.

Hopefully we can all share updates/improvements in the near future.

Zach,

We just put ours up this past Thursday in heated storage. The only delamination I have is the area above the port side cabinets. The best idea I've come up with is to match that little brushed stainless strip below the doors. Since the area is only about 4" or so, I think I'm just going go that direction from the aft stateroom to the forward bulkhead.

Looking forward to comparing notes. I finally came up with a great way to access the a/c lines for flushing. I have to flush mine at least twice a summer (sometimes 3 times) due the sediment on our river, and the main pump having supply 3 a/c units appears to be slightly undersized.

Couldn't agree more with the handling of the boat. Best handling boat I've ever owned. Looks like we have similar size dinghy's on the platform, and I would like to get the bow down just a little bit more when cruising. Considering slightly larger tabs.

-Tom

Congrats on the purchase of your 48. As you already know it's an awesome boat and one of the best Sea Ray ever built. I guess I could be a little bias :)
I look forward to exchanging upgrades made and or maintenance ideas. Winters are always long here in the Northeast but make for good planing for the next boating season.

Very nice! Love the pic at the gas dock. Those engines are thirsty!

Agreed, I am more interested to hear how other owners are tackling upgrades and maintenance as these boats age. They are truly awesome boats and I don't think any builders built anything like this post 2013 i.e the European enclosed helm is all the rage. So hearing others success in upgrades and projects would be great

Not too bad... but i suppose its all perspective

Our gas powered 380 sundancer got about .8 mpg at cruise speed

Our 48 gets .63 mpg at cruise and we can keep up 2 mpg at "cocktail" cruise speed (9.5-10 mph)

I guess what I am trying to say is the loss of .17 mpg to gain benefits of diesel and increased size/stability has been worth it. Not to mention diesel fuel is cheaper :)

Love the 480s. Ever since I went aboard one several years ago I thought they were the perfect Sundancer. I certainly have been a unhappy with the new Sundancer designs and the direction Sea Ray is going with them.

Zach, i't about time. I was considering sending a royalty invoice to you for the use of the image of my boat in your avatar. :) Congrats... cant wait to see the upgrades to the 48. By the way, we are loving your old 47 Sedan Bridge and put about 225 hours on it in one year.

Glad you are enjoying her! She is looking great any new upgrades?

I don't know where the summer went. Work has been crazy and had been completing upgrades on this boat and all of a sudden it is time for fall

You didn’t leave anything to upgrade other than an autopilot.
